Tournament Guidelines:
- All attendees are expected to demonstrate good sportsmanship throughout the event.
- Each player is expected to play individually without outside help during matches.
- Day 1 is a group Swiss qualifier. Players are divided into 8 groups.
- Each player is expected to play 4 games on Day 1
- The top two players from each group advance to the top 16 single elimination bracket on Day 2
Registration:
- Tournament admins wear a sticker tag with the Paralan logo, ‘Tournament Admin’ text, and their name written on it with a marker (pic 1 below).
- Players will register for the tournament with tournament admins at the reception with their names. They will be assigned to a group, starting with groups A through H. They will be given a sticker tag (pic 2 below) with their name and group written on it with a marker. This is to identify them for match pairing and match result reporting.
- Players will be advised to scan a QR code (pic 3 below) of their respective group available at the reception to keep track of the results in their group, who they are matched against, and when the next round of Swiss starts.
Tournament flow:
- As groups fill up, the tournament admin will announce which group is currently starting its matches and who plays who in the first round.
- Players are expected to find their opponent using the sticker tags and must attempt to play their matches as soon as possible. Players must be present for their matches; if a player is missing when a given Swiss round ends, they forfeit that match. If both players are missing, the match result is scored as a 0:0 tie. Forfeiting a second match automatically disqualifies the player from the remainder of the tournament.
